As a kid during Spring Break back in the late 60’s I remember siting on the rooftops of Balboa Blvd. near 7 th street and watching the “Inlander’s” arriving with their “Hot Rods” cruising up and down the street. I would always admire the old Thunderbirds and especially the newer 60’s “Bulletbirds”. A neighbor, who lived down the street from my home had a beige 1963 Thunderbird Hardtop which which I vowed one day to have. As years went on and time went by, I remembered my boyhood desire for a 63’ Thunderbird so I began my search for a 1963 Thunderbird Sports Roadster, the rarer of the rare. After a 3 year search and the sale of my Corvette Roadster 427/435, I located the Thunderbird Sports Roadster I desired in Palm Springs, Ca. What a find and what fun this vehicle has brought me each and every time I drive her on a Sunday cruise. I have had this Thunderbird for some time and every time I get into my Bird playing old Beach Boys tunes I remember Balboa Blvd. and the fun I had growing up..

Yeah I’m an old guy with old cars. One is a 59 Studebaker Silver Hawk that I’ve owned for 32 years. I paid $200 to bail a guy out of jail and he gave me the Stude. My other is a 69 VW Poptop Bus with 77,000 miles.

Well, I’m an Old Guy who USED TO have a nice old car.  I had a 1954 Jaguar XK120 roadster.  Then I sold that to buy a 1977 Porsche 911S.  Alas, my interests (and residential storage capacity) changed.  Now I only have an ‘07 Audi A3, an ‘04 Harley Heritage Softail Classic, and a decent firearms collection.  But I sure miss that Jaguar.  Not the repair and maintenance bills, just the Jaguar.

Hi Guys, In response to WTF....  I live in MD and was at Cruisin’ Ocean City last weekend.  I’ve been a ‘car guy’ for many years but now we’re ‘empty-nesters’ so they’re easier to afford.  In 2000 had a Pro-Street 72 VEGA, then I Pro-Streeted a 1984 AM General Mail Truck in 2005, sold that to put a retired Earnhardt NASCAR on the street.  Now it’s a MOPAR.  A real different animal.  440, 727, 4:56 spool.  SUBLIME GREEN 70 Challenger.  What fun.  TTFN

Not really old to some, but I bought a Suzuki Samurai new in 1987....21 years later, I still have it and drive it...and use it as a 4x4 was intended.
